A sweet, fresh, lite dessert which is good for any occasion. Pavlova is a versatile dessert. You can do a lot with it. Pavlova is a meringue cake, topped with whipped cream and fresh fruits and compotes.
The cake was originated in Australian content and is named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova.
They sound fancy but are just dehydrated egg white whipped with sugar. I topped it up with fresh whipped cream, strawberries and some pomegranate. You can top yours with any fruit you like. Or even cream cheese or chocolate.
One of my inspiration to make meringues are Meringue Girls. They make vivid, eye-catching and instagramable desserts. Go check them out. And if you're in London, try their Unicorn poo (you'll feel magical)
Let's get the recipe for this now!
Ingredients
Meringue
4 Egg Whites
2 Cup Sugar
1 Tsp Salt
Topping
Whipped Cream
Strawberries
Mint and pomegranate for garnish (optional)
Directions
Whip the egg white for 4-5 minutes. Add salt and sugar gradually, in four parts. Whip it until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Place dollops of the meringue on a baking sheet and bake them @100 for 60-80 minutes.
You'll know they are done when you can take them out of the baking sheet easily without them sticking to the sheet.
Decorate them with some whipped cream and strawberries.
Serve cold.
